One of the main objectives of Festival dei Popoli is to contribute to audiovisual literacy and to encourage younger audiences to go to the cinema.

"Popoli for Kids and Teens" - which will be part of the 65th edition of the Festival dei Popoli - proposes a selection of documentary and animated films suitable for young audiences between the ages of 3 and 18, in a programme complemented by educational workshops diversified according to age groups, meetings with directors and experts and many other activities.

How to participate
Entry of one or more films is free of charge. 
The following are admitted to pre-selection
- documentary films of any length and nationality;
- animated short films (of a maximum duration of 15') of any nationality. Priority will be given to films without dialogues or in Italian. 

Selection Criteria
Works produced from January 2023 onwards will be eligible for selection. 

We are interested in works that recount the lives of children and adolescents from various cultures and backgrounds and themes such as friendship, family, education, creativity, art, music, migration and the environment. For each film, it is requested to indicate the age group to which - due to its themes and content - it is most suitable. 

Documentaries may also be selected to participate in the Young Jury Day Award.

Entries will remain open until July 1st, 2024.
