As the bear fishes through the ice of the Baltic Sea, a sliver of ice transports him to a small island. The tumultuous arrival upsets the villagers, sparking a bear hunt. However, the local children disagree, and defend human-animal coexistence. The tale explores coexistence with an ecological and humorous twist, emphasizing the precious harmony between the villagers and their unexpected bear guest. (c.d.)

Jānis Cimmermanis
Janis Cimmermanis is a Latvian director and animator. He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography in 1980 and began working as a director for puppet plays at the Latvian Puppet Theater. In 1983, he joined Latvia Film Studio as a puppet film animator and director.
